Star Wars Force For Change Campaign Offers The Last Jedi Premiere Trip

It wasn't a teaser for The Last Jedi, but the big Star Wars announcement on Good Morning America will give once-in-a-lifetime experiences to a few fans.

Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley appeared in a pre-recorded video (above) to announce a new Force for Change charity campaign, which will offer prizes for Star Wars fans of every generation, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the franchise.

One winner will get to spend a night at Skywalker Ranch with a private screening of Star Wars: A New Hope and tour of the Star Wars archives; a second winner will get to attend the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, complete with red carpet walk; and a third will visit the set of the upcoming Han Solo movie and have the chance to appear in the finished film. One extremely lucky winner will get to experience all three.

Outside of the main prizes, there are also rewards for different levels of donations, including exclusive iron-on patches or postcard sets at the $50 level, or a choice of four t-shirt designs at the $100 level. The campaign will benefit UNICEF and the Starlight Children's Foundation.

Launched in 2014, Disney and Lucasfilm's charitable initiative aims to "empower people to come together to make a positive impact on the world around them." The new Force for Change campaign is the third collaboration between Lucasfilm, the Walt Disney Company and Omaze, and it follows two campaigns linked to The Force Awakens in 2014 and 2015. The first one raised $4.26 million for UNICEF Innovation Labs, the most ever for an Omaze campaign.

"Our goal at Omaze is that we believe that any audience has an opportunity to create impact," Omaze co-founder Ryan Cummins told The Hollywood Reporter. "To be able to partner with a property like Star Wars, there's no bigger audience. To be able to launch these type of experiences, it definitely makes giving fun and easy."

In the meantime, it seems increasingly likely that the first teaser for The Last Jedi will premiere at this week's annual Star Wars celebration in Orlando. We'll definitely let you know when it drops. While we wait, find out why the movie will be better than you think.
