Meet Michael Fassbender's New Android In Alien: Covenant

If you were a creepy, masked engineer with access to a pristine, futuristic lab, you too could create your own Michael Fassbender.

A new teaser for Alien: Covenant (above) introduces us to Walter, the new android that Fassbender plays in the Prometheus sequel. It's an upgraded version of the "David" model Fassbender played in that flick, and the British actor will portray both synthetics in the upcoming Covenant.

The clip is a fake marketing video from the fictional Weyland-Yutani Corp., and it's as vague as it is unsettling. We see the creation of a Walter model, and its first moments of life. It's a far more cinematic promo than the one released about David prior to Prometheus. Watch that one below.

The last time we saw David, he was taking off in a spaceship with Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) after going rogue at the end of Prometheus. In Covenant, the crew of the titular ship will reportedly find him to be the only inhabitant on a seemingly uncharted planet.

Directed by Alien mastermind Ridley Scott, the movie also stars Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, and James Franco in a surprise (but reportedly brief) role. Watch the first full trailer and a four-minute prologue to the film. Alien: Covenant lands in theaters May 19.
