Watch the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Super Bowl spot

Everything seems bigger for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, including the gang of intergalactic heroes itself.

Marvel and Disney rolled out the Super Bowl ad for the upcoming sequel, and it reveals a few formal additions to the team: Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Yondu (Michael Rooker). The latter even gets an adorably profane welcome from Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) via Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper).

Another significant inclusion in the ad is the first look at Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki). As ScreenRant points out, previous marketing implies that the character and her Sovereign race hire the Guardians to stop the Abelisk, the giant squid alien shown in the ad. But it's believed that Ayesha is the villain of the movie, so there's clearly a lot that could go wrong.

The film also features the return of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), and Nebula (Karen Gillan). Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone, and Nathan Fillion are also along for the ride.

The movie hits theaters May 5. Meanwhile, check out 20 Guardians of the Galaxy facts you may not know.
