Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy plot is revealed
The plot synopsis for Telltale's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy adventure game has been revealed, along with might be a leak for its release date.
Joe Donnelly of PC Gamer reported that a GameStop listing for the game went live, providing a brief rundown on the game's plot. According to the listing, Star-Lord and the gang discover "an artifact of unspeakable power" and every member of the team has a reason for wanting to possess it. A new villain who is "the last of her kind" is also after the relic, fulfilling the role of the story's Big Bad.
Guardians will feature the same kind of narrative-heavy gameplay that Telltale titles are known for, giving players choices and shaping the story based on their decisions. Robert Workman of WWG reported that GameStop listed the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game with an April 25 release, but that detail has been removed from the product pages. It's likely that this date was just a placeholder, but it would make sense that the game's release would fall just a week before Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 debuts in theaters on May 5.
Check out the teaser trailer above and wait patiently for all of the space opera action to get an official release date from Telltale Games.
