Obi-Wan Kenobi Returns In Star Wars Rebels Trailer

This is definitely the Star Wars Rebels trailer you're looking for.

While fans everywhere (and Ewan McGregor) hold out hope to see Obi-Wan Kenobi return to the big screen, the animated Star Wars Rebels will fill in some of his backstory from the era after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and before Episode IV: A New Hope.

A new trailer for the second half of Season 3 reveals that Obi-Wan is living a solitary life on Tatooine, and he can still hold his own. Darth Maul tracks him down after they battled in Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and the aging Jedi (voiced by Stephen Stanton) warns the Sith warrior that he's "in the wrong place" before firing up his lightsaber.

Elsewhere in the trailer, we get glimpses of Saw Gerrera (voiced by Forest Whitaker) and Rebel leader Mon Mothma along with the return of the Death Troopers from Rogue One. Meanwhile, Sabine trains with the Darksaber.

Star Wars Rebels comes back to Disney XD on Jan. 7 with the first installment of the two-part "Ghosts of Geonosis." While we wait, check out more Rogue One references to the series in these easter eggs.
