Timothy Olyphant In Talks For Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Quentin Tarantino has recruited yet another acclaimed actor for his upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. According to DeadlineJustified's Timothy Olyphant is in talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and more in the drama, which is set to follow a group of characters in Los Angeles during the summer of 1969.

It's unclear if Olyphant will play a fictional or a real character in the film, which is described as a "Pulp Fiction-like tapestry" that will explore the time leading up to when Charles Manson's followers murdered Sharon Tate (Robbie) and four others in "a shocking night of savagery." Olyphant's role is said to be a leading part. Burt Reynolds, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, and Michael Madsen are also set to star in the film.

Reportedly getting in the way of Olyphant officially signing on to the project is his busy schedule thanks to his Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet, which recently released its second season and earned a third season renewal. However, that is all said to be getting worked out, giving Olyphant a chance to appear in the highly anticipated drama, which Tarantino wrote and will direct. The movie will be filmed in Los Angeles for Sony Pictures.

Olyphant earned a Primetime Emmy nomination and critical acclaim for his starring role on FX's Justified. He is also known for his roles in Deadwood, High Life, Live Free or Die Hard, A Perfect Getaway, Go, The Grinder, Sex and the City, The Crazies, Hitman, Snowden, Mother's Day, Damages, and This Is Where I Leave You. Olyphant's other upcoming roles include the drama Behold My Heart, the animated film Missing Link, and the crime dramedy Beef.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will hit theaters on Aug. 9, 2019.
