Arrow: Another Series Regular To Exit Show After Season 6

The CW's Arrow is losing yet another original star.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, longtime arrow actor Paul Blackthorne is stepping away from his role as Quentin Lance after the series' sixth season wraps.

Blackthorne has portrayed the troubled detective-turned-mayor since the very start of the Greg Berlanti-produced drama, but will not be back for the show's recently announced seventh season. It's unclear how Blackthorne's character will be written out, but considering there are only three episodes remaining in Arrow season 6, Quentin Lance's days are clearly numbered.

The actor's exit comes after Willa Holland, who played Thea Queen (also known as Speedy) for six seasons, said goodbye the series earlier this year. Holland announced her departure back in March, just as her character left Star City with Colton Haynes' Roy Harper to find and destroy the Lazarus Pits her father discovered. Blackthorne leaving the series means that only Stephen Amell's titular Arrow (Oliver Queen when he's out of costume) and David Ramsey's Spartan (real name: John Diggle) are the only series regulars remaining from the series pilot episode. As a way to make up for the gaps in the cast roster, Arrow recently confirmed Colton Haynes' return to the show as a series regular for season 7.

In addition to starring on Arrow, Blackthorne has appeared on 24 and Lipstick Jungle. The actor's next television role is expected to be announced shortly after his Arrow exit.

Arrow will air its season 6 finale on May 17 on The CW.
