Hotel Artemis Trailer: Jodie Foster Runs A Hospital For Dangerous Criminals

Does this place take insurance?

Global Road has released the first full-length trailer for Hotel Artemis, the upcoming crime thriller flick set in a "riot-torn" Los Angeles in 2028 that stars Jodie Foster as the operator (no pun intended) of the titular Hotel Artemis, a hospital made for criminals.

The Nurse invites into the secret, members-only care center various ne'er-do-wells, including Sterling K. Brown's Waikiki and Brian Tyree Henry's Honolulu, the latter of whom gets seriously injured during a bank robbery and needs immediate medical attention. Instead of offering a comfy bed, a good night's sleep, and a mediocre breakfast served buffet-style like its name would suggest, Hotel Artemis stitches up delinquents in peace and privacy. It's a lot like the Continental Hotel seen in the John Wick film franchise, featuring its own unique set of rules and regulations.

Such orders include "no insulting the staff," like Dave Bautista's healthcare provider character who takes no nonsense from anyone; "no weapons allowed," meaning the arms dealer dude played by Charlie Day definitely shouldn't have loaded guns inside the Artemis; and "no killing the other patients," which proves difficult for the femme fatale portrayed by Sofia Boutella, as she can hardly resist attempting murder.

However, as hinted at in the trailer, these rules will more than likely get broken — but not by the Artemis' longtime members. When Brown's Waikiki steals a portable vault worth millions and brings it inside Hotel Artemis, Jeff Goldblum's crime boss character tracks him down — and shows that he couldn't care less about the hospital's strict regulations.

Take a look at the trailer for the film, which also stars Jenny Slate and Zachary Quinto, above.

Written and directed by Iron Man 3 and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation scribe Drew Pearce, Hotel Artemis is a topsy-turvy cocktail comprised of the drama of E.R., the future-set violence of The Purge, and the secret underworld of John Wick. What's not to love?

Hotel Artemis is set for a June 8 release.
