Tommy Wiseau Announces His Next Movie Scary Love

Thought Tommy Wiseau couldn't ever follow up his cult film The Room? Think again. 

Still riding the wave of success that James Franco's The Disaster Artist, the pic inspired by the making of The Room, experienced during this year's awards season, Wiseau has announced his newest venture: a feature-length flick called Scary Love that has — surprise! — already been filmed. 

The Hollywood Reporter revealed the first trailer for the movie, which looks to be a neon-lit Blade Runner-lite and sees Wiseau take the lead as a bounty hunter searching for his "long-lost love" throughout the streets of a "bleak Los Angeles." 

Though Wiseau juggled multiple roles when crafting The Room — writing, directing, producing, and starring in the terri-bad flick — he takes a more concentrated approach for Scary Love, only appearing in front of the camera. Jennifer Juniper Stratford of production company Telefantasy Studios directs Scary Love, which is billed as "a science fiction tale told in the style of classic B-movies and outfitted with practical special effects, laser beams, and lunatic ideas [that] are guaranteed to make it the next big midnight movie hit."

It's currently unknown when Scary Love will premiere on the big screen. In the meantime, Wiseau will be busy handling the release of Best F(r)iends, another of his newest creative endeavors, that stars him and The Room actor Greg Sestero as a man and a lonely mortician who partner up for a wild journey together. The film will roll out in two parts: Volume 1 is set to play in 600 theaters nationwide from March 30 to April 2, and Volume 2 will screen from June 1 to June 4.
