Jessica Jones season 2 trailer revealed

Contains spoilers for Jessica Jones season 1

It doesn't look like things will get any easier for Jessica Jones anytime soon, but she might get some answers.

Netflix released the first trailer for the upcoming second season of the Marvel series, and it catches us up with the hard-drinking and reluctant superhero (Krysten Ritter) after the events of last year's ensemble The Defenders. But this time around, Jones may need to take on a sidekick.

In the first season, Jones went to extremes to stop her rapist, Kilgrave (David Tennant). Although she defeated him in the end, she's still far from happy. Jones has an especially tragic backstory, and she's digging into the past for clues about herself. By the way, Kilgrave will be back, but he might not be what he seems.

Season 2 will also feature Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, and Wil Traval along with Oscar winner Janet McTeer, who will play a character who has had a huge impact on Jessica's life. It's not clear if any of the other Defenders will show up, but the teaser definitely hints at a big surprise.

Ritter previously said this season will be even more of a "binge show" in its sophomore year. "Even as I'm getting the episodes and reading them on the page, they ramp up so much at the end that it's kinda hard to not want to just dive into the next one!" she said. "So maybe try and savor it, but be prepared to cancel your weekend plans."

The second season of Jessica Jones will premiere on Netflix on March 8. Check out the poster below.
