Marvel's Cloak & Dagger Sneak Peek Revealed, Premiere Date Set

In the Marvel world, all it takes for two heroes to join forces is for one to spill their beer all over the other.

Freeform released a brand-new sneak peek at its soon-to-be-released series Marvel's Cloak & Dagger, and revealed its official release date in the process. Premiering on the network on June 7, the show tells the tale of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), two typical teenagers whose lives couldn't be more different, but who eventually discover that they share an unshakable bond.

During a poppin' party (which Tandy admits she may have started a little too early) one evening, Tandy and Tyrone cross paths in a first encounter straight out of a romantic comedy movie: She bumps into him, spills her drink, and the two briefly chat. Things get a little (or a lot) less conventional when Tandy swipes his wallet, and Tyrone chases after her. Tandy soon stumbles and falls to the ground, where she finds her hands emitting daggers of bright white light–the superpower that links up with Tyrone's ability to shroud people in total darkness.

It isn't long after Tandy and Tyrone first meet that they realize they're stronger together than separate, but when the pair start to grow feelings for one another, their already complicated lives grow far more challenging than they ever could have expected.

Take a look at the not-so-typical meet-cute in the video above.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger features a whole host of talent, including Andrea Roth as Melissa Bowen, Tandy's mother; Gloria Reuben as Adina Johnson, Tyrone's mother; Miles Mussenden as Michael Johnson, Tyrone's father; Carl Lundstedt as Liam, Tandy's beau and criminal partner; James Saito as Dr. Bernard Sanjo, one of Tyrone's more unusual friends; and J. D. Evermore as Connors, an intimidating detective. Rounding out the cast are Noëlle Renée Bercy as Evita Fusilier, Wayne Pere as Peter Scarborough, and Dalon J. Holland as Duane Porter.

Heroes creative Joe Pokaski serves as both showrunner and executive producer on Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, with Marvel's head of television Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory also on board as executive producers. Gina Prince-Bythewood directed the series' first episode.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger will debut with a special two-hour premiere on Thursday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
